Our Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide – Rehab Technician program is a comprehensive course designed to teach students the skills and abilities essential to the provision of basic care to residents, clients, and patients in long-term care facilities, hospitals, and home health care. This role best fits those who enjoy working in a compassionate, caring position.
WHAT TO EXPECT
At the end of this ten-week course, students will have learned:

- Providing basic nursing care skills, including vital signs.
- Basic nutritional guidance in meal planning.
- Assisting clients with bed mobility and other therapeutic exercises.
- Proper infection control measures
- Proper body mechanics in bed making, lifting, and turning patients.
- Assisting clients in the use of self-help adaptive devices for daily living.
Once completed, students are eligible to take the state Competency Exam for Nurse Assistants through Pearson Vue, as well as taking the AMCA exam to become a Certified Physical Therapy Technician.
EXTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES
Students complete a 48 hour externship in a nursing home setting supervised by a Licensed Vocational Nurse, and a second 48 hour externship in a rehab setting.
CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
Graduates of this program can successfully step into a nurse aide role in nursing homes, clinics, home health care agencies, private care or hospitals.
